Activities & Adventure .....................................

Visitors to Bogle Farms, have an array of adventurous activities to experience. In addition to miles of walking and biking trails, visitors are free to create their own 'free-form' walks through pine and hardwood forests, or meadows teeming with a variety of songbirds, hawks and small animals including rabbits, raccoons, and 'possums. If you are walking in the woods early mornings or late afternoons you have a better than even chance of seeing whitetail deer or American wild turkeys.

While at Bogle Farm you and your family can enjoy

>Wildlife Viewing from over 15 Observation Towers

>Feed and Help care for the quarterhorses Spunky & Frosty

>Collect Vegetables from the Organic Garden & Orchard

>Pick fresh berries from naturally growing blackberry bushes

>Care for the Christmas Trees growing in the pond field

In addition to two of our most popular activities:

Fishing

The two primary ponds on the property have numerous fish which---especially at dawn and dusk---are hungry to be fed by fisherman on the shore. These ponds are managed and have been treated for harmful weeds and algae in addition to periodic feeding to maintain a healthy fish population. Freshwater catfish, largemouth bass, bream and crappie can be seen feeding near the pond shoreline, sometimes even schooling in groups of 6-8 fish. Several 4-6lb. fish have been caught from both ponds on artificial lures, earthworms and crickets.

Bogle Farms practices a "catch and release" program for all largemouth bass. Catfish and pan-fish of eating size which are caught are free to be kept by anglers.

Hunting

Bogle Farms is located in Meriwether County, one of 3 counties in Georgia that manage (by state law) for large, mature bucks by prohibiting the taking of bucks with less than 4 points on one side. As a Quality Deer Management (QDM) farm, Bogle Farms adheres to the principles of a managed deer herd. Quality Deer Management (QDM) is a management philosophy/practice that unites landowners, hunters, and managers in a common goal of producing biologically and socially balanced deer herds within existing environmental, social, and legal constraints. This approach typically involves the protection of young bucks combined with an adequate harvest of female deer to maintain a healthy population in balance with existing habitat conditions and landowner desires. This level of deer management involves the production of quality deer (bucks, does, and fawns), quality habitat, quality hunting experiences, and, most importantly, quality hunters.  Bogle Farm does not allow hunting rights to the general public.

Though several species of ducks and Canadian geese can be seen on the Farm, shooting of these waterfowl is always prohibited.

Bogle Farms believes that the greatest pleasure from hunting is the experience of seeing a healthy, mature game animal in the wild---even if an arrow is never launched or a shot is never fired. What is important is the chance to harvest a quality buck - an opportunity lacking in many areas under traditional management. When a quality buck is taken on a QDM area, the pride can be shared by all property hunters because it was they who produced it by allowing it to reach the older age classes which are necessary for large bodies and antlers. 12 months a year, Bogle Farms is investing in our native herd of whitetail deer and turkeys. Mineral licks, adequate water and covering vegetation, automatic feeders and rotating food plots are constantly prepared and monitored so that the wildlife in our area have all they need to thrive.
